A typical braking system in a vehicle consists of a pair of brake pads, brake discs and a brake calliper for each wheel. Overtime the brake pads will eventually wear down and it is crucial to have them inspected and changed where necessary.

The most obvious indication of an issue is a brake pad wear warning light on the dashboard, however there are other signs that suggest your brake pads require inspection,: if the car feels as if it is pulling to one side while braking, a screeching sound when braking, a grinding sound when braking at which point it is likely that the brake pads have worn down completely so the vehicle should not be driven and the brakes need to be checked and replaced at the earliest opportunity.
