Suspension

The suspension is part of the car chassis, and consists of several components: shock absorbers, struts, and anti-roll bars. Your car suspension has many purposes and benefits. Most notably it makes your car ride smoother by absorbing energy from road bumps, potholes and other impacts through the shock absorbing components such as springs and dampers. It also stabilises steering and improves handling, improves the friction between the tyres and the road surface, prevents excessive tyre and brake wear, and maximises passenger comfort.

The most common signs of a troubled suspension system are:

  • The vehicle bounces or dives over bumps

  • Loose handling

  • The vehicle leans when parked

  • There are squeaking, clanking or knocking noises often from under the vehicle

  • The ride is very uncomfortable

At Saddlers Garage we can diagnose any suspension problems, and both supply & fit any components that need replacing to improve your driving experience.
